February 20, 2013 - Gateway Rotary reached a milestone today by inducting its 50th member. Amanda Carroll was sponsored by her father and current club President Tom Carroll. Tom is the 1st member of Gateway Rotary who piloted its charter in September 2011. Amanda is not only Gateway's newest member, but also our youngest at age 23. She brings diversity in her perspectives and knowledge from her vocation in Information Technology.



At the start of 2013, Amanda started her own company in information technology consulting. She is currently under contract with Network Communications International (NCI). Amanda is responsible for the oversight and management K20, Washington’s Education Network. She attended the University of Washington from 2008 to 2012, studying mathematics and economics and is currently working towards finishing her degree.  While attending college, she worked as a first aid attendant and later for a program promoting the success of high school students with disabilities pursuing STEM degrees and careers. Amanda also spent 4 years working for the American Red Cross as an instructor.

Born in Rota, Spain to Tom and Laurie Carroll, Amanda was raised in the Olympia area. She graduated from River Ridge High School and served as the Interact president, which first sparked her interest in Rotary.
