We have some pretty cool members in our Rotary Club. One of them is Meghan Goldenberger.
Born in Alaska to a father who fished and built elementary school pools, and a mother, who was a nurse. She lived on the Flathead Indian Reservation in Montana for a bit, before moving to Thurston County, where she met husband in her high school in French class and married him last year. Oddly enough, her best friend Megan, who co-leads Together! with her, was also born and raised in Alaska.
This adventurous sole taught snowboard lessons at White Pass in high school, yoga classes in Seattle after attending Western Washington University for college and left the state for a time to live in Guatemala and Belize. She’s been at Together since 2006, first as a program manager, then worked her way to co-leading the organization with Megan.
During her spare time, she serves on Tumwater Planning Commission (since 2016) to learn more about her community and will be teaching a class at The Evergreen State College during the Fall 2018 semester on how to lead a community nonprofit.
And there you have it…another interesting life of a Gateway Rotarian.
