Rotarians and Lions and Lots of Squash! A day of joint service to benefit the community.
On October 16, 2021, Gateway Rotary President, Amanda Vey, and Gateway Director-At-Large, Nathan Magee, together with Olympia Host Lion Club member, Paul Swanda, joined forces at the Lacey Farm Stand to help distribute fresh produce to their clients.  This was accomplished because of a challenge issued to Rotarians, Lions, Kiwanians, and Optimists world-wide to come together during the week of October 10-16, 2021, to make a difference in the world.  Approximately 40 people were able to "shop" for fresh produce acquired by the Lacey Farm Stand from various local suppliers and growers.  The squash was abundant and varied and there were also lots of peppers, carrots, celery, and even some tomatoes and tomatillos.  Everyone had a great time and we've already talked about another joint project in the near future.  Thank you to Karen Sell (no relation to our Nita Sell) and to Paul Swanda for being such great Lions!
